Trajan's Sacred Spring discovered

By Rome Rentals Co.

The Caput Aquae - the place where water originates - has been discovered for the aqueduct that was completed in 109 AD to serve Trastevere.

A couple if British aqueduct hunters, Michael e Ted O’Neill, have discovered the origin of source of water that supplied Trastevere from lake Bracciano.

The associated nymphaeum — a monument consecrated to the nymphs — has been described as extraordinary. The This is certainly an important discovery.

And it wasn’t easy to discover either. The entrance is located in a pig farm under all sorts of bushes and shrubbery, and a massive fig tree with roots deeper than the nymphaeum itself and compromising its structural integrity.

The following video, produced by the same people who made the discovery, the explains it all.

Seems like the video has been taken offline by MEON HDTV PRODUCTIONS.

With a bit of luck it will appear again or perhaps on TV.
