A bargain market in the heart of Rome a stone throw away from the pricey shops near the Spanish Steps.
Unlike Porta Portese market where 90% of the stuff is junk, La Soffitta Sotto i Portici is more about quality. You can find antiques, collector’s items (stamps, coins, etc…), furniture, art as well as newer things that are deemed interesting enough to sell. Up to 100 sellers exhibit their items – this isn’t a small-scale operation.
This is an invitation to those who spend too much time (and money) shopping online and visit a real market. it’s actually good fun.
The market is on twice a month on the first and third Sunday. It opens at 10am and closes at sunset.
