Are you passionate about Rome? Have you seen it all twice over and are keen to discover what’s off the beaten track?
We would love to collaborate with experienced freelance bloggers and ‘articolisti’ to help us articulate what the true Roman experience really is. We’re not after blog posts about Piazza Navona, the Vatican and what has been already written 1,000 times over.
The type of person we are looking for can be described in these terms:
Interested?
Then send us an email (webmaster@rome-rentals-co.com) to introduce yourself, stuff you’re written before (links please) and what your rate is.
We have been using the same company for a few years now. They are very professional and provide a great airport transfer service for a price comparable to the standard taxi – the yellow ones, that is.
Stay 7 days or more and get a free ride on us
That’s right, if you book an apartment with us we will pay for the airport pick-up.
A driver will meet you at the exit holding a sign with your name of it. He / she will direct you to the car — usually a Merc — and drive you to the apartment, helping you with your suitcases.
Inspiration for this has come from sites such as RomePhotoBlog and eternallycool.net as much as the stuff we see around us every day.
The idea is to showcase the beautiful and interesting things that can be found away from the famous landmarks: a celebration of the mundane.
We will feature our own photos, those of our contributors as well as anyone who wishes to share their work on this site. We’ll say a few words with every photo we publish just to give images some context beyond what can be seen.
Goes without saying that we will not publish the work of people without their consent — please don’t do the same.
This is the title of our first photo, that has been submitted by our friend and contributor Pablo Moreno.
We’re publishing our photos on Flickr too.
OK, so we’ve added RSS, Email alerts and a What’s new page. Now you can follow us on Twitter too.
Don’t worry, we will not abuse the system. We will not post thing such as…
Rome Rentals Co. is scratching its head
Rather, we’ll post web site updates and any particularly interesting piece of information we come across that is relevant to what we do.
To follow us you need to have a Twitter account and then click on the Follow link on our profile page:
We’ve just added a new category to our useful links section: Blogs about Rome
If you have one and want to be listed get in touch with the following info:
Also, it would be super if you could link back to us like this: Rome Rentals Co
We will not accept blogs that are, in our opinion, nasty (racist, obscene, etc…) and those of our competitors (obviously).
So far we’ve added Katie Parla’s blog about Rome and Southern Italy. Check it out, it’s very good.
The site is not quite complete – we have listed only 4 apartments in 4 areas of Rome. We’ll be adding more soon.
We are also writing up articles for the Rome Experience section, which we hope will inspire people to visit Rome.
Please have a look around and let us know what you think by posting a comment here or emailing webmaster@rome-rentals-co.com. We’re particularly interested to know if navigation works for you and whether you find content interesting and relevant.
For the record, this site is owned and operated by travgo a new brand for an established business in the vacation rentals sector. Our main site – www.cityapartments.it – has been going up and running since 2002. Read up about who we are on our About us page.
We’re in the business of selling a different experience of Rome that is more like how locals live. We’re saying… “if you’re visting Rome why not stay in an apartment rather than a hotel? You’ll be more comfortable and enjoy the city like Romans do”.
So we’ve a whole section dedicated to the Rome Experience where we publish articles about places, shops, restaurants, bars, etc… that are not usually included in guidebooks and blogged about.
Contribute your story and photos and we will reward you with €15. But before you open up Microsoft Word and start writing please understand that…
Interested? Get in touch for more information and tell us a little bit about yourself, including links to stories or blog posts you have already written.

Shopping in Rome... in pictures
There is another way you can shop that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. In fact, it doesn't cost you anything: take photos of your favourite items and shop fronts.
